Elitist Groupthink

Dear President Bush, Trent, Lindsey and all you Washington folks.  Amnesty, a path to citizenship, stepping into the light, legally recognized residency, whatever you call it, it is wrong.

President Bush, you and Let-‘Em-In-Lindsey have very clearly demonstrated your anger and irritation with American citizens expressing our wishes and concerns.  We are not naïve, hapless children asking too many questions or speaking out of turn that need to be chastened for interrupting the adult’s conversation.  Just write the check.  Anger and bullying is the last resort of a failed debate and a symptom of “Groupthink.”  Groupthink has lead to some of the most spectacular tragedies of the last century, e.g., Pearl Harbor, Bay of Pigs and the Challenger conflagration.  You are all victims of it.  You stifle debate.  You are attempting to stereotype out-groups as racists.  You rationalize the “group” view.  Your illusions of grandeur and invulnerability cause you to truly believe that you are smarter than the rest of us.  Your belief in the inherent group morality is textbook groupthink.  Ya’ll need therapy!  Just enforce the law.

My biggest concern is the frustration and disappointment of mainstream Americans, both Reps and Dems directed at our ELECTED leadership’s behavior, is being reported and represented by the mainstream American and World media as racism, anti-immigrant and “against” brown people.  That takes groupthink to a completely new level of psychosis.  Just write the check.  The far left and open borders crowd has repeatedly asserted racism.  Quotes from Let-‘Em-In-Lindsey like “No Catholics...  Jews need not apply.” not being the kind of America he wants to live in, is a bald-faced attempt to cast all who do not agree with them as racists.  Do not mis-underestimate the passion, frustration and disappointment of the fly-over-country American electorate with their representatives as being directed at illegal immigrants.  It is not.  Enforce the law.

Those of us in Border States have always had a close relationship with our southern brothers.  We have a shared heritage that was willingly and culturally embraced from the outset.  In Texas, we have always revered and respected our Mexican compatriots with whom we fought side by side in the Alamo and during the seminal events of our independence.  In the past, we have wrongly, but tacitly permitted charity in the form of social services, towards those hard working folks who came here.  We believed our benevolence toward these people could be absorbed by the largesse of our exchequer at the time.  Write the check.  Then in the mid 80s, we recognized the toll unbridled illegal immigration was taking on our infrastructure e.g., schools, hospitals etc.  So back in ’86 with Simpson-Mazzoli we thought we had a reasonable, compassionate solution that dealt with and resolved this issue.  Please enforce the law.

President Reagan and Ted Kennedy in concert with all the usual suspects passionately assured us mainstream Americans out here in fly-over-country that this was a one-time deal.  Never again would we legitimize illegal immigrants.  The borders will be secured.  The laws will be enforced.  Businesses will be severely punished to remove the magnet, the incentive and a guest worker program will be established.  They were not.  None of it happened.  Look where we are now.  Just write the check for the Border Patrol.

Times have changed.  Today we have a flood.  Our exchequer no longer covers the bill.  Our benevolence is no longer permissible.  Our budget cannot support it.  The waves of illegal aliens flooding across our borders today are not who they were twenty years ago.  They do not want to learn English.  They do not want to assimilate.  They do not want to become Americans!  They only want a job, money, and wealth.  Most of which immediately leaves the country and our commerce stream.  Please enforce the law.

This bill is “the best deal we are ever gonna get.”  My gracious!  What an admission of failure!  Settling?  This is what we have descended to?  Leaders do not “settle.”  When a leader realizes he is “settling” he needs to step back and rethink the direction he is going.  Please write the check and enforce the law.

The laws that we have are the place to start.  Write the check.  The Border Patrol knows what to do.  Write the check.  Let out the contracts to build the fence.  Enforce the law.  Place the Border Patrol, Coast Guard, Immigration, and Customs beyond the back channel control or influence of Senators, Congress-persons or Cabinet members.  Enforce the law.  No longer, permit them to shut down and restrict the constitutionally mandated activities of these organizations.  Write the check.

President Bush, you may not have to run for office again.  However, most of these other characters do.  The therapy for groupthink in this case will be the election.  It just may be harsh medicine for those committed to rewarding bad behavior. If the political strategists, wonks and advisors working for the RNC or the DNC for that matter cannot see, that a credentialed, unequivocal, credible candidate could run and win on this issue alone, he/she is blind.  Re-assign them back to street canvassing!  Write the check.  Enforce the law.  Then you can argue about what to do with the water in the boat.

Ya'll Take Care,
Johnny a. Miller

ps:  RNC called the house tonight.  I told them what I've been telling them for 6yrs... not another dime until the border is closed and the laws are enforced.  Write the darn check.

Stars in Iraq

This one came to me through the grapevine.  Here is one of the soldiers (a senior USAF NCO: Chief Master Sergeant) who didn't’t try hard enough in school and get a good education that SEN John Kerry says are terrorizing Iraqi women and children. Ya’ know I truly AM sick and tired of hearing from SEN Kerry. Please keep praying for our troops and supporting them.

This my friends is what we need to remember.

Here’s a tough, but heartwarming story and a picture of CMSgt John Gebhardt in Iraq. John's wife Mindy shared that this beautiful little girl's entire family was executed. They tried to execute her too.  They shot her in the head.  The terrorists, however failed to kill her. She was being cared for at John's hospital.  She is recovering, but has been inconsolably crying and moaning. The nurses said John is the only one for whom she seems to calm down.  When the e-mail that led to my blog
began its rounds John had spent the last four nights holding her while they both sleep in that chair. The girl is doing well and recovering nicely.  Soldiers, husbands and fathers, this photo is nobility digitally captured.

John was scheduled to come home in early October.

*CMSgt Gebhardt is a real star of the war and is representative of what America is trying to do.*

GOD BLESS AMERICA

Ya'll take care,
Johnny

My Sentiments Exactly Sen. Kerry

I have to say for once I agree with John Kerry. I'm sick and tired too. I am sick and tired of listening to him criticize our soldiers. I’m sick and tired of John Kerry calling our current valiant and noble soldiers terrorists. I’m sick and tired of Sen. Kerry labeling our past heroes as war criminals. Despicable.

What galls me as a veteran and grandson, son, brother, spouse and in-law of veterans (I wore the uniform John) is his repeated and consistent denigration of the U.S. military as a group and his insulting, traitorous abuse of U.S. service members individually. Somehow John's wearing the uniform thirty years ago gives him eternal permission to denigrate and insult people he's never met in an organization of which he's not a member. No-one is asserting that every member of the military is pure of heart, good and noble; however I believe the vast majority are.

Senator Kerry’s current jejune attempt to justify his statements with feigned, indignant anger for dramatic effect, claiming he was referring comically to President Bush and his words are being distorted for political gain is an affront to the intelligence of those of us out in fly-over-country, the American public. Down south we call that crawfishing, i.e. lacking the courage of your convictions and when challenged, backing away from your actions/statements by equivocating and attempting to re-cast them in a different light. This behavior results in the crawfisher appearing wishy-washy and indecisive… thus Sen. Flipper. His comments are there for anyone to read. Go read them for yourself, a botched joke indeed. He’s banking on-sound-bite reporting and the public’s general ignorance of what he said or perhaps he just thinks we’re stupid.

“A dog returns to its vomit.” John revisits again and again this central theme of denigrating and berating U.S. military personnel. He began immediately upon his return to the states. In fact he began his subversive assault so quickly that he met with members of a foreign enemy power with whom we were actively engaged in combat, while still a U.S. military officer. OOPs. John seems to have a recurring problem with those darn regulations. He’s such a rebel. To some it may seem ironic that John, who wore the uniform, would speak this way. It’s no secret that he was only in the military to punch his political ticket. From jump-street John’s three month service tour was a calculated political strategy designed to serve as his bona fides to blast the military and check the patriotism box on his political scorecard.

I’m sick and tired of LTJG Johnny arrogantly climbing up on his, elitist high horse and telling us below about the sins of the miltary at large while hypocritically omitting his own criminal actions and dereliction of duty. You see as an officer in the U.S. Navy, a Lieutenant Junior Grade; John Kerry had a responsibility, a duty. It’s precisely that duty he criminally neglected; precisely that duty which prevents armies from descending into depravity. LTJG Kerry testified that he “personally” witnessed a list of war crimes “reminiscent of Genghis Khan.” By witnessing these activities and taking NO action he is complicit in the self same war crimes. In fact as an officer he has an even higher degree of culpability. As a leader one learns very quickly that people perform to the minimum acceptable standard. Set a high standard, enforce the standard and that will be the standard performance. Apparently Johnny is a slow learner. Thus in reality LTJG Kerry committed not only the crimes of dereliction and gross negligence, he also became an accomplice to each and every crime he witnessed and did nothing. John Kerry is by his own “Winter Soldier” testimony a war criminal. A leader, an officer, witnessing a war-crime then whining about it later doesn’t make you a whistle blower, it makes you a coward. Courage comes at the point of impact, not after the fact. As a leader you don’t witness and tattle. You take immediate, decisive, corrective action. Then you report.

I’m sick and tired too John. I’m sick and tired of hearing from a coward, a muckraker and self promoter like you. Give us a break John, go wind surfing or skiing in France.

CNN Video, Appalling, Inexcusable, Hypocritical

Repulsive and traitorously disgusting are the sentiments generated by CNN's deliberate propaganda jihad waged against success in Iraq.  CNN’s broadcasting not once, but twice video allegedly provided by amateur, terrorist cameraman is appalling, inexcusable and hypocritical. As a veteran, the son, grandson, spouse and brother of veterans I can think of no positive, ethical or journalistic reason for any American network to broadcast that video. It was appalling. The fact that the US service-member was not identified by CNN does not mean he remained unidentified by family and friends, nor that CNN verified with DOD or Dept. of the Army that proper notification had occurred.  Verified or not it is inexcusable. CNN’s contention they present the “unvarnished truth as best we can” is laughable. CNN refused to air the unvarnished footage of the September 11th attack on innocent civilians because it’s “just too disturbing.” Apparently when an American puts on a uniform his death is not “too” disturbing… utterly hypocritical. I’m sure Ibrahim al-Shammari, and the terrorist Islamic Army appreciates CNN’s aid and comfort as well as the free terrorist recruitment campaign. CNN –true patriots, just not American patriotism.

Ya'll say a prayer for our servicemen/women and their leaders.

Have a Happy Day,

Johnny
